Dear Valued Customer,
Harley-Davidson Motor Company recently announced a safety recall that affects 2009MY through 2011MY Touring, CVO Touring and Trike vehicles, and certain 2012NY Touring, CVO Touring and Trike vehicles, built June 6,2008 through September 16, 2011. To quote from the communication from Harley-Davidson:
“Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Inc. has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists on all M.Y. 2009 through M.Y. 2011 Touring, CVO Touring and Trike vehicles, and on M.Y. 2012 Touring, CVO Touring and Trike Vehicles built on or before 9/16/11. The rear brake light switch, P/N 72016-06, installed on these vehicles may be exposed to temperatures that can degrade its performance e under certain riding conditions. This condition may affect brake lamp function and/or cause a brake fluid leak at the brake light switch affecting rear brake performance, possibly leading to a crash and potential injury or death. Harley-Davidson has initiated this recall to correct this condition.”
The repairs will be performed free of charge to all vehicles that are affected. Replacement parts have started to wave ship to our dealership as of October 24, 2011 in limited quantities. Owners of affected vehicles will be notified by a customer letter from Harley-Davidson. However, we are happy to check that status of your vehicle if you contact us directly with your vehicle identification number (VIN).

Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some of the most frequently asked questions we
receive in the Service Department. Since each vehicle is a little
different, we advise you to always refer to your owner's manual on specific
specifications such as oil level, spark plug gap, tire pressure, etc. If

1. Do I need an appointment for a New York State Inspection?
- No, we do not take appointments for inspections.
We inspect from 10:00 AM until an hour before close. Inspections are done
first come, first served and you may wait up to 30 minutes. But there is
always hot coffee and good conversation to help pass the time.
2. What is the minimum tire tread required to pass inspection?
- New York State requires a minimum of 2/32 tire tread in
three different spots in order to pass inspection.
3. Where can I find my service maintenance schedule?
- Each vehicle has a different maintenance schedule.
You can find your specific schedule listed in the back of your owner's manual or
service manual. You may also contact the Service Department to find out
when your vehicle should be serviced.
4. What is DYNO tuning?
- When a motorcycle rolls off the production line, it is
calibrated to run with stock components and under certain weather
conditions. DYNO custom tuning tweaks your bike to run to the exact
performance components you have installed in your specific environment to bring
you optimum performance results.
5. How much does custom DYNO tuning cost?
- Prices start at $140.00 and vary depending on your
specific bike and component configuration.
